Bathroom Vanity Renovation

To start a DIY mid-century modern bathroom renovation, we air sprayed the bathroom vanity to Benjamin Moore Black Panther color. If you need tips and tricks on how to air spray, click here to learn more.

We replaced the countertop with white quartz. We would’ve bought one from Home Depot or Lowes, but the width of our vanity is not standard in the market. So you’ll save more money if yours is standard width.

We purchased the brass bathroom faucet and brass cabinet vanity handles from Amazon! They are great quality, very heavy metal material for a low price!

Bathroom Wall Renovation

Our second step to our DIY mid-century modern bathroom renovation was to add a white hexagon white backsplash. It is a mosaic, matte, porcelain tile from Home Depot. We used a dark gray grout to help the shape stand more.

We purchased the round wooden mirror from Amazon. This mirror was expensive and out of our budget, but it was our only choice. A lot were sold out or wouldn’t arrive till months later. There is a cheaper one at Target.

The light fixture was also from Amazon. I would’ve gone with a fixture with more lights since our bathroom has good amount of space, but the wall is slightly cut off in the corner. Since we wanted to brighten up this large space with only 2 lights, we chose a fixture with a glass shade.

Other DIY Mid-Century Modern Bathroom Renovations

Instead of putting out a hand towel, I purchased a 100 pack of hand towels/cloths from Amazon (also at a cheap price)! I’ve read that hand towels host and spread a lot of bacteria because of the dampness and being in the dark. People also don’t always wash their hands properly! I would highly recommend washing these towels several times because when you first use it a lot of lint comes off.

The decor, like the baby’s breath, vase, rattan basket were from HomeGoods. The basket on the floor to hold the used hand towels is from At Home. Unfortunately they don’t sell the I bought anymore, but At Home always has baskets at a low price, they also have a lot of sales!
